I went to Spain, which still sounds foreign to say as I never expected to go to Spain or to a European country or honestly anywhere that is not United States of America and Mexico. I never thought traveling or playing dress up in a different country would be a memory I would be able to say is mine.

I am a sap, a complete hopeless romantic and about to say something totally cliché; this trip to Spain completely changed how I view myself and view the world. I could essentially write a grand love poem to Spain, but I rather make you jealous about my glamorous trip through iPhone quality pictures that display the designer (hahah I wish) clothing I wore.

You will get all the links, all the sizes and if you're going to Spain.. all my days mention what I did when I was in Madrid.... and now the moment you've been waiting for... Marissa playing dress up in Spain.

Day 1 : Plane Ride and Arrival Night

Outfit #1

- Princess Polly: Brixton Gray Hat ($14.02) - One Size

❤︎ Comfort is absolute key when you're about to be inside an airplane for over 12 hours. It was an obvious choice to throw on an oversized top with flattering biker shorts that make my bum look amazing. The hat was completely unnecessary, but it made for a good picture.

Outfit #2

- Free People: Color Block Dress ($12) - Small

❤︎ We went out for a group dinner at Chulapa de Alcalá which had interesting food options, it is an absolute understatement to say I wasn't the biggest fan of Spanish food. However, my outfit was a huge hit that received numerous compliments; my mom managed to find this dress in the Macy's sale rack at Baybrook Mall in Houston.

Day 2: Gran Vía and Beautiful Building (I really can't remember the name)

Outfit #1

- Zara: Red Parsley Printed Dress ($19.99) - Small

❤︎ This whole day was dedicated to shopping at Gran Vía, even though I completely shopped for new clothing a week prior to this trip. This beautiful red dress was absolutely wonderful for spending lots of money on clothing items as it allowed me to stay as cool as possible in humid weather and lets be honest... it made my boobs look great.

Outfit #2

- Ambercrombie & Fitch: White Crochet Romper ($44) - XSmall

❤︎ Ahh, I have so much history with this romper, receiving it as a birthday present from my mother when I turned 17 and refusing to throw it away, despite the massive tear in the crochet area. I love this romper due too its simplicity and it's just so darn c u t e !! (If you don't agree, just please don't tell me) The trendy woven cross body bag was difficult to find, making me want to rip my hair out throughout the whole process, but I managed to find this beauty with a 60% off coupon so BOOYAH!

Day 3: Plaza de la Villa, Buen Retiro Park, Puerta de Alcalá

Outfit

❤︎ Madrid provided me with several fashionable and picturesque moments, but this day was my absolute favorite. It was like multiple fantastic days within one as each picture provides an amazing memory behind it and this dress looks beautiful throughout the scenery. My only recommendation is to go one size down, I wish I got a size X-Small rather than a Small as it fit pretty loose around my waist.

Day 4: Puerta del Sol and Temple De Bod

Outfit

❤︎ Midi and Maxi dresses were my usual outfits for my trip to Spain because they provided very elegant and fashionable looks that were very easy to style. Personally, I should have gotten a size small in this dress as it was very loose and had to be tied super tight to stay put on my body, but I made it work. I really have been enjoying pairing my sister's white Fila chunky sneakers with maxi dresses as it gives the allusion of a casual outfit when wearing an elegant dress.

Day 5: Reina Sofia Museum, Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel

Outfit

❤︎ O M G, I know ya'll are getting annoyed with my dumb self ordering the wrong sizes and yes this is my third time wishing I sized down. Technically, I thought I ordered a size 4, but obviously I did not as the sleeves of the dress kept falling down my shoulders and there was so much extra fabric within the waist area. I still looked gorgeous, if I do say so myself, but this dress probably had the most problems out of all the outfits and the woven bag ripped out so many threads that my dress just began falling apart. but the pictures came out great (;

Day 6: Plaza de Toros and Flamenco Show

Outfit #1

❤︎ We all have our confident body days, and this was not one of them for me, despite the endless comments I receive on my body... sometimes I do not see what people see when they look at me. This jumpsuit is absolutely gorgeous, but I felt like a bloated whale waiting to explode... but the pictures came out amazing. #hardtruth

Outfit #2

- Free People: Red Parsley Print Dress ($9.99) - X-Small

❤︎ Everyone needs to go to Macy's Sale Rack at Baybrook Mall because they have so many discounted Free People dresses that are so stunning, it shocks me that they are on sale. The dress just screamed Flamenco to me which is honestly the reason that I wore this dress, in hopes of people thinking I was the Flamenco dancer (sadly, no one thought this). This god gorgeous dress was not even off the shoulder, I just didn't clip the back of the dress to create this style of dress as they make my collar-bones look so sexy.

Day 7: Left to Barcelona

AND THE NEXT BLOG POST WILL BE ABOUT THE OUTFITS I WORE THERE

Fashion Tips from Marissa

Buy dresses and accessories that are on SALE

- Discount codes can literally be found anywhere, usually I type Princess Polly discount codes in Google Search or on Youtube... codes will 100% always come out

- Install Honey on your Internet browser, it is completely free and automatically looks for discount codes for you

- Unidays is a website/app that has so many different student discount for hundreds of retailers such as Nasty Gal and Lulu's plus it's also completely free to use

Carefully check your shopping cart and size guide to avoid any fashion mishaps

- All size guides for every store is completely different, you may be a Size 2 in Princess Polly, but a Size 8 in Nasty Gal due too the fabric or style of their clothing

Buy clothing items that fit with the culture and environment of whichever beautiful location you are traveling too

- There was some girls that wore jeans when they were in Spain and I would not be able to survive as I get very hot very easily, so it is important to know what clothing you can be comfortable in within the environmental circumstances

wanderlust:

strong desire to travel
